Sunk at the face of the Stone Drift driven from the Hilda Pit, South Shields Colliery, direct South, and through the Great Dyke, to explore the Bensham to the South of the Dyke. This Staple is 163 yards South of the Shaft and 45 yards to South of the fissure of the Dyke, which is a downcast of 58 fathoms
