Cause: jammed and knocked off stone buch underneath tippler. The claim was one of partial dependency. Prior to death of the son, total income of the five members of the family was £10 8s. 11d. per week. After the death of the son and the loss of his earnings the family income was £8 5s. 10d. for the four remaining members of the family. The average income was therefore before the death of the son £2 1s. 10d. per head, and after the death of the son £2 1s. 6s. per week, the difference being 4d. per head per week. The owners offered £30. This offer was rejected. Following further negotiations a final offer of £75 was accepted with the approval of the dependents.
